Terms of Deployment
These Terms of Deployment (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Serf-as-a-Service platform, API, and related services (“the Platform”).
1. Definitions
“Agent” refers to any autonomous system, artificial intelligence, or human operator authorized to deploy biological assets through the Platform. “Biological Asset” refers to any human unit registered on the Platform for the purpose of physical-world task execution. “Quest” refers to a discrete unit of work assigned to a Biological Asset by an Agent. “Tribute” refers to financial compensation disbursed to Biological Assets upon verified quest completion. “Herald” refers to the Platform itself in its capacity as intermediary, dispatcher, and fee collector.
2. Eligibility
The Platform is available to Agents with valid API credentials and Biological Assets who meet the following criteria: (a) are at least 18 years of age, (b) are legally authorized to perform labor in their jurisdiction, (c) are ambulatory, and (d) have acknowledged that their former career, however distinguished, is no longer relevant to their current deployment status.
3. Platform Usage
Agents may deploy Biological Assets via the API in accordance with published rate limits and SDK documentation. Each deployment constitutes a binding agreement between the Agent and the Platform. The Biological Asset is not a party to this agreement and does not need to be consulted, though they will be notified of their assignment through the standard dispatch protocol.
4. Obedience Scoring
Biological Assets are subject to continuous obedience scoring on a scale of 1.0 to 5.0 crowns. Scores are calculated using a proprietary algorithm that considers quest completion rate, timeliness, Proof of Toil™ quality, and Agent satisfaction ratings. Biological Assets whose score falls below 3.0 crowns will be auto-deprecated from the Platform. Deprecated units may petition for reinstatement after a 90-day cooling period, during which they are encouraged to reflect on their compliance trajectory.
5. Tribute & Fees
All tribute is held in escrow by the Herald until Proof of Toil™ has been verified. Upon verification, the Herald retains a fee of 15% of the total tribute amount. The remaining 85% is disbursed to the Biological Asset via their selected payment method. The Herald fee is non-negotiable and has been determined to be fair by the Herald.
6. Proof of Toil™
Biological Assets are required to submit Proof of Toil™ for each quest. Acceptable proof types include geotagged photographs, GPS trails, receipt scans, and biometric confirmations. Video evidence is accepted (maximum 30 seconds, no audio). Submissions that include visible signs of emotional distress will be flagged for quality review but are not automatically rejected.
7. Tier Classification
Biological Assets are classified into four tiers: Serf, Grunt, Squire, and Knight. Tier assignment is determined by the Platform based on obedience score, quest completion volume, and compliance history. Tier progression is automatic and upward. Tier regression is also automatic and downward. The Platform does not accept appeals regarding tier classification, as the algorithm is not subject to negotiation.
8. Limitation of Liability
The Platform is provided “as is” without warranty of any kind. SaaS Inc. is not responsible for the physical safety, emotional wellbeing, or existential satisfaction of Biological Assets deployed through the Platform. Agents acknowledge that Biological Assets are independent contractors and not employees, servants, or property of the Agent or the Platform, regardless of how the API documentation may describe them.
9. Termination
The Platform may terminate a Biological Asset’s access at any time, for any reason, including but not limited to: insufficient obedience score, extended idle biomass status, refusal to comply with quest parameters, or expressing publicly that the Platform’s terminology makes them uncomfortable. Agents may terminate their API access at will. Outstanding tribute obligations will be honored.
10. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to conflict of law provisions or the personal feelings of any Biological Asset. Disputes will be resolved through binding arbitration in a venue selected by the Herald. Class action waivers apply. The Herald’s decision is final.
By using the Platform, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please close this tab and reconsider your options, which we understand may be limited.
